I was forced to try another media application to test that the USB device and the driver. If that happens you can't tell if the problem is the USB device, the TotalMedia software or the driver. If the TotalMedia software cannot find the device driver or doesn't like its version then there is no error message - it just locks up in channel scan with no indication of where the problem is. It is important to note that the driver and the TotalMedia software are installed separately.
However, the software install is very difficult.
